RJ flights diverted to Amman Civil Airport due to dust

ott 01, 2012 - Amman

Two of its flights landed at Amman Civil Airport-Marka, instead of Queen Alia International Airport, due to the weather instability and wind shear, in addition to the cover of dust around the airport area, which resulted in poor visibility for landing.

On Oct. 1, an aircraft coming from Berlin was diverted to Amman Civil Airport-Marka and on Oct. 2, another aircraft coming from Abu Dhabi was diverted to the same airport. Some of the passengers who were onboard left Amman Civil Airport to their homes, whereas transit passengers were flown onboard the two aircraft to Queen Alia International Airport to continue their travel after the weather conditions improved.
