The source pointed out that the Captain of the Embraer 195 decided not to continue with the flight to Beirut and to get back to Amman, due to his suspicion about a technical issue, being keen on maintaining passengers’ safety. On board were 84 passengers and five crew members.
The source mentioned that the company prepared an alternative aircraft which took off to Beirut at 15:30 same day.

Royal Jordanian and General Electric partnered to use a GE’s patented 360 Foam Wash system on the airline’s GEnx-1B aircraft engines. The technical license awarded by GE allows Royal Jordanian to perform 360 Foam Wash on its fleet of GEnx-1B engines for Boeing 787 aircraft completely on its own.
