Royal Jordanian extends preference for AFI KLM E&M for Airbus 330 component support

Jun 16, 2015 - Paris, Amstelveen

Royal Jordanian President/CEO Captain Haitham Misto signed the contract with Senior Vice President Commercial AFI KLM E&M Fabrice Defrance on June 16 during the Paris Air Show 2015 currently held in the French capital.

The special feature of this contract is that it is set to run until the scheduled retirement of the aircraft from the Royal Jordanian fleet. In the meantime, Royal Jordanian will not only benefit from AFI KLM E&M expertise on the A330 product, but also from its experience of phase outs and major compliance issues in connection with components of aircraft retired from a commercial fleet.

This agreement is further proof of the strong ties that have existed between the two groups over the years. Royal Jordanian has been benefitting from AFI KLM E&M expertise for over a decade, with the latter in particular providing exclusive component support for its Airbus fleet A320s and A340s, in addition to its A330s.

Captain Haitham Misto said: “During the recent tender process, we were able to gauge and appreciate AFI KLM E&M’s desire to maintain privileged ties with our airline.”

Fabrice Defrance said: “Royal Jordanian is one of our longest-standing clients and it was very important for us to again demonstrate to them our ability to combine a product offering the highest possible quality with an ultra-competitive offer tailored to its operational requirements.”

Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance is a major multi-product MRO (Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul) provider. With a workforce of over 14,000, AFI KLM E&M offers comprehensive technical support for airlines, ranging from engineering and line maintenance to engine overhaul, aero structure and FTR support, as well as the management, repair and supply of aircraft components, structured around a powerful logistics network. AFI KLM E&M supports almost 1,500 aircraft operated by 150 major international and domestic airlines.
