Royal Jordanian increases its shares in Jordan Flight Catering Company to 51%

The Jordan Flight Catering Company is a joint venture between Royal Jordanian, dnata and Eastern Aviation Investments. dnata, a global air and travel services provider, currently holds a 25% stake in Jordan Flight Catering Company.

The Jordan Flight Catering Company and Royal Jordanian have also agreed to extend the inflight caterer’s service contract with the airline for 10 years. The highly-skilled chefs will produce over four million meals, contributing to an excellent onboard experience on RJ’s 17,000 flights annually.  

The extension will see dnata continue to oversee the operations of Jordan Flight Catering Company. The partnership will ensure continued stability, operational excellence and world-class services for Jordan Flight Catering Company’s 34 airline customers. The company will operate under a joint co-brand between dnata and RJ. Besides Jordan, dnata provides quality catering services to Royal Jordanian in the UK and USA.

Royal Jordanian Vice Chairman/CEO Samer Majali emphasized the airline’s commitment to maintaining its position as a leading carrier in the region. He stated that acquiring a majority stake in The Jordan Flight Catering Company is a pivotal move to support Royal Jordanian's operational excellence and enhance its service offerings.

He added that the Jordan Flight Catering Company will continue being independently managed by dnata under a long-term agreement, providing world-class catering services to RJ and other airlines. The acquisition will also allow Royal Jordanian to optimize resources, improve flexibility, and maintain competitive pricing in its catering services.
