Royal Jordanian marks sponsorship of C.D. Leganés with reception

Nov 26, 2016 - Amman

In the reception, an agreement was signed between RJ and MBUZZSPORT whereby RJ is announced to be the official sponsor and airline partner of C.D. Leganés for the remainder of the 2016/2017 La Liga football season that will end on May 21, 2017.

Captain Obeidat said RJ is pleased with this global marketing partnership that is bound to boost the airline’s visibility in the European and international markets.

He said: “Our sponsorship will draw global attention to Jordan and Royal Jordanian, which is leading the air transportation in the Levant region and which is also endeavoring to promote tourism locally.”

He added that RJ’s sponsorship is bound to boost tourism from Spain to the kingdom and increase transit traffic of travelers from Europe to the eastern part of the world via Amman.

Captain Obeidat pointed out that Spain, in particular, and Europe, in general, used to be the traditional source of inbound tourism, but this traffic witnessed a steep decline in the last few years due to the instability in the region.

“We are glad to reach this deal with Royal Jordanian that now sponsors a team of La Liga, one of the most popular sports events worldwide,” said Shammari, adding that there is big competition among global companies to enter such successful partnerships.

Shammari praised the position and services of RJ, a leading company in the Middle East that acts continuously to make itself visible at various international events.

He added that sports marketing is one of the most effective tools that yields a positive return for the companies in terms of quick and efficient brand promotion .

The logo “Fly Royal Jordanian” and the Royal crown have appeared on the front shirts of C.D. Leganés team members since the team played against Real Madrid on November 6, 2016, at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in front of more than 80,000 football fans.

C.D. Leganés will encounter Atlético Madrid on February 5 next year, FC Barcelona on February 19 in Barcelona, and Real Madrid in Leganes, Madrid, on April 5; it will meet other teams for games of La Liga season.

The partnership grants RJ a number of advertising and hospitality rights: its logo appears on screens at stadiums, on the team’s buses and in publications addressed to members and fans.

The carrier can also use images of the team players and its link will be placed on the club’s social media channels and official website.

Royal Jordanian is the third Middle Eastern airline to sponsor a "La Liga" club.
