RJ receives A321 & A320 aircraft

May 25, 2012 - Amman

This replacement is part of RJ’s short- and medium-range fleet renewal program and is meant to enhance efficiency across its network. The first three A320 aircraft joined the fleet last year.

Configured with two cabins, Salt seats 136 passengers, of which 16 in the Crown Class cabin. It has a cargo capacity of almost 10 tons.

The A321 (Karak) is configured with two cabins and seats 162 passengers, 20 in the Crown Class cabin, giving more legroom to J class passengers.

The new A321 has a cargo capacity of almost 12 tons. Both fly about five and a half hours.

Every economy and J class seat of the two aircraft is provided with personal screens. The advanced, new generation I5000 in-flight entertainment system is distinguished from the previous A320 family by the touch screen feature, which makes it easier and more comfortable for passengers to watch their favorite programs and play the system games.

Along with the other aircraft in the fleet, these two airplanes exemplify the standards that Royal Jordanian has set to ensure the operating efficiency of its fleet. Their V2500 engines are designed to significantly reduce fuel consumption.

The two remaining A321 and A320 aircraft will join the fleet in June and November this year respectively.

The RJ fleet counts 32 planes built according to the latest eco-friendly specifications and serving 60 destinations spanned over four continents
