Royal Jordanian starts its annual Ramadan campaign Food parcels distributed in Shobak and Bayda’a

Jul 24, 2012 - Amman

RJ opted to start this year’s Ramadan campaign from the south of the kingdom, to ensure the delivery of these needed packages to the less privileged categories in these regions, thus hoping to ease the economic burden they incur during this month. The media and communication staff distributed the food parcels to dozens of families that are supported by the volunteering foundations in these regions.

The Ramadan campaign is in line with the airline’s approach of interacting with the local community. The company feels it is its duty toward the nation and its responsibility toward the less fortunate, so it carries out these campaigns, based on its values, religion and morals of the Jordanian society. The corporate social responsibility is an essential element of the airline’s work and values.

This year’s campaign will also see RJ host many iftar banquets for orphans in Amman and other cities. The company has prepared an entertaining program and presents to be given away to orphans, with the aim of bringing joy to their hearts in this holy month.

Royal Jordanian carries out such charity campaign each year, translating into deeds its intention of serving the society and helping the less fortunate.

These activities are more than just corporate social responsibility for the national carrier of Jordan; they are a continuous, solid relationship between the company and the society at large, which it has been always keen to develop and improve during the holy month of Ramadan, as well as through charitable activities it carries out around the year.

RJ carries out this campaign in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Development and local community organizations involved in volunteer charity work to ensure the delivery of aid to groups most in need in all regions of the Kingdom, according to a study carried out before Ramadan in order to pinpoint areas and individuals most in need of such help.
