Royal Jordanian concludes its Ramadan campaign
Aug 13, 2012 - Amman
The company distributed food parcels to the less fortunate families that are supported by volunteering foundations in Amman, Al Mafraq, Al Balqa’a, Um Al Rummaneh and Jizeh.
This year’s campaign included holding several iftar banquets for more than 300 orphans in Amman and other cities. The banquets had entertaining programs and RJ gave away presents to orphans, bringing joy to their hearts in this holy month.
RJ carried out this campaign in Ramadan in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Development and local community organizations involved in volunteer charity work, to ensure the delivery of its aid to groups most in need in all regions of the Kingdom.
These activities highlighted the value of social solidarity and the message of fraternity and care during this month. They also intended to bring happiness to the hearts of orphans and the individuals most in need of this help. The charity organizations involved in RJ’s campaign expressed appreciation for the thoughtful initiatives launched by Royal Jordanian, not only in Ramadan but throughout the year.
The Ramadan campaign is now in its seventh year running, having become a part of the airline’s corporate social responsibility and of its interaction with the local community. The company feels it is its duty toward the nation and its responsibility toward the less fortunate to help, so it carries out these campaigns, based on the values, religion and morals of the Jordanian society. Sustainable corporate social responsibility is an essential element of the airline’s work and values.
