Skål Club celebrates RJ™s golden jubilee

Skal Club Amman Chairman Said Sawalha expressed gratitude to RJ for the role it played in supporting tourism in the country ever since it was established in the early 1960s.

Sawalha called on all the organizations working in the tourism sector to continue collaborating with RJ for the benefit of the national economy.

Previous RJ President/CEO Ali Ghandour briefed the audience on RJ’s growth since its establishment, referring to the efforts that King Hussein exerted to lay solid rules for the aviation and the air transport industry in Jordan. Ghandour stressed the importance of RJ in linking Jordan to the world, in the process helping the tourism, economy and cultural activities.

During the event, Skål Club honoured Ali Ghandour, Nasser Lozi, RJ Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO, and the Mayor of Amman Akel Biltaji.

At the ceremony, Japanese Ambassador to Jordan Junichi Kosuge was also honoured in appreciation for the generous donation of his country toward establishing a museum in Petra, as was the Chilean Ambassador Edward Escobar for his efforts to encourage the Arab community in his country to visit Jordan, thus supporting various tourism activities in the Kingdom.

The Skål Club also honoured the founder of the club in Jordan, Fayek Bisharat.

The Skål Club in Jordan was established in 1965. Its members work in tourism, and air and sea transport.
