Royal Jordanian hosts AACO Business Technology Forum 2014 in Amman

During his opening speech, Lozi expressed RJ’s satisfaction with hosting this forum in Jordan, stressing the importance of this meeting that assembles a selection of experts and professionals working for different Arab airlines to discuss issues related to information technology, communications and the development of the work environment in a manner that helps improve the Arab air transport industry and strengthen its competitive position globally through the optimal use of technology.

He said that information technology and communications became a mainstay for the development of airlines performance through the application of modern systems to streamline the commercial and operational techniques and to simplify travel procedures, in addition to controlling cost, an issue of interest to all Arab and international airlines, mainly because of the sharp rise in fuel prices.

Lozi praised AACO’s constant efforts, ever since its establishment, to strengthen partnerships and cooperation among Arab carriers in various fields, and to provide an opportunity for their employees to get acquainted with the successful experiences of the civil aviation sector at Arab and global levels.

At the opening session, AACO Secretary General Abdul Wahab Tofaha delivered a speech in which he stressed the organization’s keenness to hold such meetings in light of the growing importance of the information technology sector in supporting the efforts of Arab airlines to find appropriate technical solutions that enable them to provide the best services for passengers, thus increasing the revenues of these carriers and reducing the traditional operational costs.

Tofaha expressed appreciation for the historic role played by Royal Jordanian in the field. The company has been supporting AACO’s efforts, by providing the necessary facilities to hold its meetings in Jordan, and through positive interaction with the organization’s various committees.
The two-day event tackles the information technology aspect, discussed by experts from the aviation sector representing the participating airlines.

It also includes international air transport professionals negotiating means of enhancing passengers’ satisfaction and simplifying travel procedures using the latest technologies.

The forum will also discuss measures to increase revenues and control cost, and applying optimal hi-tech solutions in regards to seat booking, ticket selling, airport services, air freight, and others.

Participants working for different international IT and communications providers also participate in this forum, including Amadeus, SITA, Travelport, FARELOGIX, globalcollect and others.

Amman, April 27, 2025: RJ held its ordinary and extraordinary Annual General Meeting virtually on April 27, 2025. The meeting chaired by RJ’s Board of Directors Chairman Said Darwazeh; was attended by Vice Chairman/CEO (Designated) Samer Majali, RJ board members, Companies’ General Controller Deputy, representatives of the Government Investments Management Company, RJ accounts auditor Ernst and Young and some shareholders and RJ employees.
