Feb 10, 2015 - Amman
This initiative shows RJ’s keenness to support this charity and the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization, and is part of the company's corporate social responsibility policy, which makes it interact with the local community, as a national duty towards the less fortunate.
Every year Royal Jordanian implements a social responsibility plan through which it distributes food, clothes and medical devices to the needy, orphans and the elderly in different parts of the kingdom.
Last year, Royal Jordanian distributed containers from the Charity Clothing Bank at its headquarters offices in Amman, at Queen Alia International Airport and at the City Terminal. The initiative enabled RJ employees to donate clothes, shoes and toys to underprivileged families around the Kingdom who benefit from the Charity Clothing Bank. This project was a great success because of the employees’ continuous support.
Before that, RJ donated 7,000 pieces of stocked uniforms to the Charity Clothing Bank and presented clothes to 100 underprivileged families during Eid Al-Fiter.
The officials at the Charity Clothing Bank praised RJ for its initiatives that support the bank’s projects and for its goodwill activities inside and outside Jordan.
RJ has been playing a leading role in serving the local community ever since it was founded, 50 years ago.
The Charity Clothing Bank was launched by the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization in 2013, the largest project of its kind in the region. The bank’s building, located in Al Mahatta area, in Amman, is almost 6,000 m2.
