وأوضحت الملكية الأردنية في بيان صحفي أن قائد الطائرة قرر الهبوط في أقرب مطار حينما علم من طاقم الخدمة على متن الطائرة بالوضع الصحي للمسافرة، وهي أردنية الجنسية عمرها 52 عاماً، حيث هبطت الطائرة في أثينا وكان الطاقم الطبي المختص في المطار بإنتظارها وقدم لها الإسعافات الأولية اللازمة بمرافقة مسؤول محطة الملكية الأردنية في أثينا.
وذكر البيان أن حالة المسافرة الصحية جيدة وسيتم إعادة ترتيب سفرها قريباً إلى وجهتها النهائية في مدينة ميامي الأمريكية بعد تعافيها من وعكتها، فيما واصلت الطائرة رحلتها إلى مدريد بعد تأخير في مطار أثينا لنحو 40 دقيقة.
وأكدت الملكية الأردنية أنها تضع صحة وسلامة مسافريها فوق كل الإعتبارات والتكاليف المالية التي تترتب على الشركة في مثل هذه الحالات.
