oneworld is Global Traveler’s best alliance for seventh year in a row

Dec 03, 2016 - Thursday

Global Traveler describes its GT Tested awards as “the Super Bowl of travel”.

Retaining this honour builds further on oneworld’s record as the most highly prized airline alliance, with more “best alliance” awards in the leading international award schemes than its competitors combined, including currently:

  • FlightStats’ On-Time Performance Award 2015 for the third time running.
  • Business Traveller’s 2016 Best Airline Alliance, for the fourth year running.
  • World Travel Awards’ World’s Leading Airline Alliance 2015, for the 13th consecutive year.
  • Premier Traveler’s Best of 2015 Awards – for the third year running.
  • Business Traveler North America’s 2015 Best in Business Travel Awards.
oneworld member airlines also flew high in Global Traveler’s 2016 GT Tested Reader Survey.

Qatar Airways took three first prizes – as Best Airline for International First Class, Best First-Class Seat Design and Best Airline in the Middle East.

American Airlines was named Best Airline for Domestic First Class, LATAM Airlines as Best Airline to South America and Qantas as Best Airline to Australia and New Zealand.

Global Traveler Publisher and CEO Francis X Gallagher said: "Congratulations to oneworld for its seventh consecutive win as Best Airline Alliance.  It's clear the alliance's 14 member airlines are among some of our reader's favourites, as the airlines themselves are award winners.  When the power of all of these superb airlines comes together as part of the oneworld alliance, travel is transformed."

oneworld CEO Rob Gurney said: “oneworld aims to be the first choice global airline alliance for frequent international travellers, with the best collection of leading airlines, so being named Global Traveler’s GT Tested Best Airline Alliance award for the seventh year running is very welcome testimony that we remain on the right flightpath as far as these key customers are concerned.  Thanks to everyone who voted for us.  We’ll continue to do our best for you and all our customers.”

The awards, announced in Global Traveler’s December 2016 edition, published today, will be presented at a ceremony in Los Angeles later this month.

Global Traveler, the only AAM-audited US-based magazine for the international business traveller, is a business travel and lifestyle publication with an AAM-audited paid circulation of 111,000+.
